As 2016 sunsets and the dawn of 2017, I sit here and reflect on the experiences of 2016.

If you are like me, you are making a list of goals, intentions and changes you want to make for 2017. Some have resolutions/goals of losing weight, exercising more, eating less fast food etc. We begin the year motivated and excited to make healthy changes in our lives, then by January 15th, the motivation push fizzles out and the stress, tension and negative self chatter set in.

The highs and lows, ups and downs and ALL the tools I've gained have equipped me for my destiny. Believe me, it has not been easy and it has not been without stress. But I found simple ways to relieve my stress enabling me to face and conquer EVERY challenge.

How do you take the stress out of New Year resolutions and set yourself up for long term success?

1. Make YOUR Dream Come True
Set a goal that is something YOU really want to achieve for your life, not what other's expectations are of you. Take the "should" out of the equation. Do not be afraid or cower down from the vision you have for your life.

2. Create a Roadmap
In the "olden" days before GPS, we used a map or atlas to see where we were going and how to get there. The same thing for achieving your goals and success with your resolutions. Map out how to reach your goals and make your dreams come true. Write it down step by step. The saying goes, "How do you eat an elephant? one bite at a time". This takes the stress out of your resolutions because it makes the task feel less daunting.

3. Eat More Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Many fresh fruits and vegetables such as green leafy vegetables, contain vitamins and nutrients that can naturally release stress. Additionally, when you eat more fresh fruits and vegetables you have more energy and clarity of thought to achieve your goals.

4.  Drink at least 8 cups of Water Per Day
Our bodies are approximately 65% - 70% water. A very small percentage of dehydration affects our brain function with things such as memory and thought processes. Stay well hydrated to help manage stress and have more focused thoughts. This will help you stay the course to achieving your goals.

5. Visualize Your Success
See your success. See yourself already achieving your goal and living your dream life. Studies have shown that when you visualize something in detail, your brain registers it as actually happening. This relieves the stress and pressure of getting to the destination. The meantime and in between times are the most difficult. Most of the time what stress people out is fear. Fear of the unknown - False Evidence Appearing Real. Visualizing primes and prepares you for success.

See? It's not hard. You can release your stress simply and naturally and achieve your success. Remember create your roadmap to your Resolution Success with less stress.
