Follow Your Heart to Health & Happiness

Michelle Clay blood pressure heart health self-care self-love stress stress management valentine's day

Greetings Super Wonder Women and those ready to live a FREELIFE on purpose and with passion FREE of stress. It's Dr. Michelle here sharing some tips to help you release stress simply and naturally. February is the month with all things related to matters of the heart.

It's heart health month and Valentine's day.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, accounting for about about 1 in every 5 female deaths.
One of the major contributors to the health of the heart or lack thereof is blood pressure.
According to the American Heart  Association, the recommendation for normal blood pressure is LESS THAN 120/80. Elevated blood pressure is classified as 120-129/<80. You are diagnosed with high blood pressure if your pressure is

130 - 139/80-90 or higher.

Lifestyle modifications such as diet, exercise and monitoring your stress level are paramount. How many of us have modified our lives for a healthier and harmonious way to live?
Did you know that chronic stress can increase your blood pressure? It's not just a myth when something shocking happens and you say, " Whew! You got my pressure up!"
Episodes of stress and anxiety can cause dramatic, temporary spikes in your blood pressure due to vasoconstriction (tightening of the blood vessels).  If those temporary spikes occur frequently and repeatedly they can cause damage to your blood vessels, heart, and kidneys, as can chronic high blood pressure.
Sometimes what stresses us and pulls on our heartstrings is being the "go-to-girl"  You know the, "I got it" and "It's handled" person - the Super Wonder Woman. Flying around to rescue EVERYONE from their problems and personal emergencies except herself. If only she could use some of her superpowers on herself. Superpowers like tools for tranquility or some self-care stress releasing strategies.
Today as we honor love and romance, let's use that as our superpower. Instead of focusing on how another person can express their love for you through flowers, candy, dinner, etc. be your own best date ever and love of YOUR life!
"Something inside you emerges....an innate, indwelling peace, stillness, aliveness. It is the unconditioned, who you are in your essence. It is what you had been looking for in the love object. It is yourself." ~Eckhart Tolle

Let the beauty emerge from within and be the object of YOUR affection. Love yourself unconditionally and self-fully. Love yourself with gratitude and thanksgiving accepting and owning that you are fearfully and WONDERFULLY made - every inch of you. You can start by practicing a little self-care. Self-care is any activity done deliberately in order to take care of your mental, emotional, and physical health. Here is a simple assignment for Love Day that covers matters of the heart:
1. Say "no" to toxic conversations, people, food, and additional tasks on your to-do list
 today
2. Say "yes" to one thing you want that makes you feel FREE and easy today
3. Look at yourself in the mirror, smile and say, "I love you."

Simple right?
Now go complete your assignment.
Follow your heart to health and happiness and watch your beauty, peace, and love emerge.

Yours in Health and Harmony,
